Oberhofer has released a brand new single, ‘SUNSHiiNE’, featuring Shamir and Nick Valensi.
It’s the latest offering from his first album in almost 6 years, ‘Smothered’, which is set to drop on 12th November via Tetefono Records.
“‘SUNSHiiNE’ is a song about finding someone (or something) that makes one feel reassured about one’s existence as a whole, and keeping oneself spiritually open to such revelations. I’ve been a big fan of Shamir’s for a long time, and when I sent him the album demos, he listed ‘SUNSHiiNE’ as a favorite. I have so much respect and admiration for Shamir and feel insanely grateful to have him on it. Nick Valensi (The Strokes) is a big part of the reason I started playing guitar, so it was an honor to have him play a solo on the track. (Jonathan) Rado and I really went crazy with the production on this one,” Brad Oberhofer explains.
‘Smothered’ will also feature contributions from the likes of Jonsi, King Princess and Girlpool. You can check out ‘SUNSHiiNE’ below.
