Pop sensation and chart superstar Olivia Rodrigo has dropped a brand new track, ‘deja vu’.
Another sure fire pop megahit with a side order of sort of Lorde-y bits (Lordeons? – Ed), it’s taken from Olivia’s debut album, which is set to be released on 21st May.
“The concept of deja vu has always fascinated me and I thought it would be cool to use it in a song around the complex feelings after a relationship ends,” Olivia says. “I started writing and recording ‘deja vu’ last fall and had so much fun creating the different melodies and sonic textures that you hear throughout.”
It comes alongside a video captured on Malibu Beach, which you can check out below.
‘deja vu’ follows up on January’s ‘drivers license’, which went on to sit at Number 1 in the UK Official Singles chart for nine consecutive weeks – the longest run in 15 years. It also holds the most recorded streams in a single day in UK history for a non-Christmas song, with 2.39 million.
