Pale Waves have taken to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, where they performed a cover of ‘Boyfriend’ by Dove Cameron.

It is the Manchester quarter’s second appearance in the studio, following a 2018 visit where they offered a live rendition of ‘Eighteen’, and covered Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss’.

This time around, they offered to pay tribute to American actress and singer Dove Cameron – who was just named New Artist of the Year at the 2022 AMAs – with a cover of her breakout hit, ‘Boyfriend’. You can watch the footage of Pale Waves’ rendition below:

Whilst they were there, the four-piece also played ‘Clean’ – a cut from their third album, ‘Unwanted’, which arrived earlier this year. Dork’s 4-star review described the 13-track LP as, “the album they have been building up to their entire lives”, describing ‘Clean’ specifically as a “stunning all-time banger”.
