Toronto two-piece PONY have announced that their second album, ‘Velveteen’, will be released on May 19th through Take This to Heart Records.
The record follows their 2021 debut, ‘TV Baby’, and is preceded by the release of the new single ‘Très Jolie’.
Speaking about the track, PONY’s Sam Bielanski said: “‘Très Jolie’ is obviously a love song. It’s about falling hard and fast, and allowing your love brain to trick you into believing that you’re in a healthier mental state than you truly are.”
“I know I tend to hide the ways that I struggle in the beginning of relationships because everything else feels brand new. ‘Très Jolie’ is about the conflicting emotions of falling in love with someone when you don’t quite love yourself yet.”
This isn’t the first recent new material from the duo. ‘Did It Again’, ‘Peach’ and ‘French Class’ have all been released over the last few months and can be found on ‘Velveteen’.
