Post Precious have covered Harry Styles’ ‘Sign of the Times’, and it’s absolutely brilliant

  • Dork News Desk
  • January 15, 2018
Post Precious are so bloody hot right now. The duo, made up of Alex Winston and Ms Mr’s Max Hershenow, dropped their first music last year, and followed it up earlier this month by teaming up with Dork faves Wolf Alice and Charli XCX for a Really Very Good rework of ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’.

Now, they’re back again, and this time they’ve brought the pop mega-bangers. Covering Harry Styles’ super smash ‘Sign Of The Times’, they’ve taken it from slow burning ‘man in a nice coat who for some reason starts flying’ territory to borderline cool-as-fuck club banger.

You can check it out first on Dork below, and read what Post Precious have been up to via the interview below.

Hey Post Precious, how are you today?

Hey DORK, we’re doing really well – Max is a little jetlagged but we’re super excited about everything that’s coming up this year.

Congrats on your fab hook up with Wolf Alice and Charli XCX, how did that come about?

Max actually lives with Charli in LA in the house where we recorded the Post Precious songs, and she’s been a huge supporter of ours from the beginning. She asked us if we’d be interested in doing the remix with her.

What was it like working with her?

We’ve been friends for a long time and living together for almost two years now, so it’s basically just like working with family…we wrote and recorded the remix at home in an hour between breakfast and other sessions.

Did you go through a few iterations of ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’, or did you know what you wanted to do from the off?

Charli had an initial idea for the production and Max sort of just ran with it, and then we rewrote the verses over the new production. It all came out really fast.

You’re following it up with a cover of Harry Styles’ ‘Sign of the Times’, what drew you to that particular song?

Honestly, we both just think its a really beautiful song. We had been toying with the idea of a cover for a while and we thought we could transform it into something dancey and fun, but also keep the emotionality of it.

Did you listen to Harry’s album, what did you make of it?

We’ve heard the whole record and really enjoy it, but ‘Sign Of The Times’ is by far the best song on the album.

We hear you have an EP on the way, too – what can you tell us about it?

We’ve written so many songs at this point that we could put out a full length, but we really liked the idea of an EP. Whatever songs we are loving, we will release, and that has been the core idea behind this whole project. There is a real sense of freedom in knowing we can write 4 songs, put it out into the world as a moment and move on to the next thing that inspires us.

What else do you have planned for 2018?

Hopefully playing some Post Precious shows soon! Alex is also starting to think about her next solo record, which Max has been helping to flesh out a little. It’s very exciting.
