Rachel Chinouriri has released an acoustic rendition of her current single, ‘I’m Not Perfect (But I’m Trying)’.

The track was originally released on October 25th via Parlophone Records after a recent summer single, ‘Thank You For Nothing’, with both releases following her 2022 EP, ‘Better Off Without’ – Dork’s 4-star review described the record as, “heartbreakingly raw but brilliantly delivered.” Chinouriri also walked us through the EP track-by-track, which you can read here.

“I wanted to write a song about the hesitation before diving into a situation,” she said on the song. “I was reflecting on the self-doubt I have sometimes but also the desire to always jump straight into things. It’s the realisation and acceptance of being perfectly imperfect. This life is full of motion and keeping up isn’t always easy. But I remind myself to just go for it in order to grow as a human being and experience new and amazing things.”

The new rendition strips back the upbeat rhythm and leaves Rachel’s bewitching vocal exposed at the forefront. On the release, the English singer-songwriter has shared: “I wanted to do an acoustic version of the song to bring attention to the lyrics rather than the energy of the song, I wanted people to focus more on the message and interpret it in a way that means something to them. The song is about being imperfectly perfect and the message is really important to me, and I hope it resonates with people.”
