RAYE is possibly closing in on her first ever chart topping single in the UK.
Following the release of her single ‘Escapism’ in December, it rose to become her highest-charting single to date, reaching number two in the UK Singles Chart. Now, The Official Charts Company has reported that it’s once again in the running for the UK Number One spot, currently out-performing Central Cee’s ‘Let Go’, SZA’s ‘Kill Bill’, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ and more.
RAYE is understandably ecstatic at the prospect of finally topping the UK Singles Chart: “It would be beyond a dream to be Number 1. With this song? At this time in my life? Don’t!”
Prior to this single, RAYE had reached the number three spot twice before – both of which were collaborations with other artists while she was signed to Polydor Records with Jax Jones’ ‘You Don’t Know Me’ in 2016, and last year’s Joel Corry and David Guetta collaboration ‘Bed’.
RAYE’s debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues’ is set to arrive on 3rd February.
