Reading & Leeds adds Liam Gallagher, Declan McKenna, The Big Moon, PWR BTTM and loads more

  • Dork News Desk
  • April 7, 2017
Another wave of bands has been announced for Reading & Leeds 2017, and this time it’s led by Liam Gallagher.

The Oasis frontman is bringing his debut solo album, plus a few classics, to the Reading & Leeds Main Stage this August Bank Holiday weekend, but he’s not the only new act joining the bill.

PVRIS will also hit the biggest R&L platform, alongside Honeyblood and Deap Vally. Elsewhere on site there’s a who’s who of Dork faves, including Declan McKenna, The Big Moon, Will Joseph Cook, Black Honey, Superfood, The Japanese House, Blaenavon, The Magic Gang, Marika Hackman and MUNA.

“We’ve been going to Reading and Leeds since we were little,” explain Black Honey. “It’s where I crowd surfed for the first time and fell in love with music, it feels so fucking good to be back on the other side of the barrier again this year”

There’s also Mura Masa, Japandroids, Ash, Jagwar Ma, Cigarettes After Sex, Sub Focus, Anne-Marie, The Orwells, King No-One, SG Lewis, Mutemath, X Ambassadors, Judas, Bishop Briggs, Off Bloom and The Districts, plus Ten Tonnes, Cosima, Vallis Alps, Barns Courtney (Reading Only), Mondoa Cozmo and OUTLYA.

The Pit/Lock-up features some 10/10 booking with PWR BTTM, Gnarwolves, Tigers Jaw, Muncie Girls, Tigercub, Freak and SLØTFACE. There’s also Arcane Roots, One OK Rock, Breaking Benjamin, Carpenter Brut, Turbowolf, Astroid Boys, Boston Manor, Defeater, VUKOVI, God Damn, WSTR, Zeal & Ardor, Palisades, Casey, Big Jesus, Tired Lion, Culture Abuse, RavenEye, LIFE and Viagra Boys.

“My mind is completely blown that we are going to be playing Reading and Leeds where so many incredible bands have played for so many years,” says Ben from PWR BTMM. “I just hope my outfit looks good!!!”

The BBC 1XTRA Stage sees new additions from Bugzy Malone, Stefflon Don, Vince Stapes, AJ Tracey, Abra Cadabra, Russ, P Money, THEY, Lunice, Akala, Big Tobz, Kaykae, DJ Semtex (Reading only), Not3s, Bossman Birdie, A2 and Monster Florence. Goldie, Mistajam, LANY, Kurupt FM, Jax Jones, Heartless Crew, Delta Heavy, Monko, Metrik, Jacob Plant, Dreem Teem, Kideko, Alma and Haus will play the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage, alongside a B2B set from Loadstar and Matrix & Futurebound.

Reading & Leeds takes place between 25th and 27th August 2017.
