Reports claim The Stone Roses to release third album this summer

A follow up to 1994’s ‘Second Coming’ has been rumoured since the band’s return to playing live.
The Stone Roses are preparing to release their third album, according to reports.

A follow up to 1994’s ‘Second Coming’ has been rumoured since the band’s return to playing live, and has intensified around their live shows scheduled for this summer, which include four massive headline dates at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium.

The Mirror quotes a source as saying: “Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three. It’s a long time coming but they feel the time is right now. They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”

The last official word from the band was 2013, when bassist Mani claimed they’d been “working on a few bits”.

However, with a headline slot at T in the Park this July, there’s every chance we could be hearing more very soon indeed.

The Stone Roses’ current live schedule reads:

June

2-3 Tokyo, Nippon Budokhan

15-19 Manchester, Etihad Stadium

30 New York, Madison Square Harden

July

8 T in the Park

9 Dublin, Marlay Park
