Rose Gray has shared a new song, ‘Synchronicity’.
The song serves as the title track for a new EP, due to arrive later this summer. “I wrote ‘Synchronicity’ with Alex Metric in London a few months back,” Rose explains. “Alex started playing with ethereal synths, and I was instantly in love with the soundscape we had created. It reminded me of ‘Bedtime Stories’ by Madonna – one of my favourites. Lyrically I take you on a whimsical journey, completely losing myself and yet still feeling reassured by the power of human connection. I’ve always been fascinated by synchronicities.”
The track comes alongside a video directed by Rauri Cantelo, who reveals: “I wanted the film to look further into shared memories and experiences, launching us into a world that explores a deeper, almost cerebral connection between a group of people sharing synchronised movement.”
“I’ve always been fascinated by the late 80s to mid 90’s rave scene, if I could teleport I’d go right back to Fantazia 1992,” Rose adds. “I love watching old YouTube videos of these parties. Everyone looked so free. I wanted to capture this energy in the Synchronicity video. A group of friends escaping city life in a 1996 BMW convertible, leaving London behind. That feeling when you’ve been driving for hours, floating through a void and then you find your destination.”
