Rosie Carney has shared a new single, ‘dad’.
The track is the first single to be taken from upcoming second album ‘i wanna feel happy’, and comes alongside a video starring John Bell, known for his roles in Outlander and The Hobbit.
Following up on 2019’s album ‘Bare’, Rosie explains of her experiences of being an “indie” artist over the pandemic: “Every new musician seemed to be a natural born influencer and I found that so, so difficult. It felt like everyone just went ‘OK cool let’s jump on live’ and meanwhile I was flailing my arms and having panic attacks at the thought of having to talk to camera.”
Speaking about the video for dad, she continues: “I wanted to create the narrative of a young person journeying back to their authentic self after being trapped and lost within this loud world”
“It was emotional watching John relate to this and bring it to life. He choreographed the dance sequence himself and there wasn’t an ounce of his mind and spirit that he held back. It’s become a real testimony to our friendship.”
New album ‘i wanna feel happy’ is set to arrive on 27th May via Color Study. You can check out the video for ‘dad’ below.
