Rostam + Charli XCX team up for the sultry remix of the year

It’s like the fillings of a sandwich we’ve been waiting to eat for a while now – bloody delicious
If you thought 2016 was done with superstar collaborations, then think again – because ex-Vampire Weekend soother Rostam has teamed up with bonafide pop slayer Charli XCX for a fresh new remix. And just in bloody time to make a terrifying day a bit easier.

Taking on the electro chimes of ‘Deadstream’ by US producer Jim-E-Stack, it’s an underwater dive into the darkest corners of modern electronica. Built upon Rostam’s distorted vocals and shadowy echoed beats, it finds Charli dropping a chilling hook that’d make a statue shiver in pure joy. Atmospheric breaks and spacious lines reign supreme, perfectly soundtracking the closing winter months of the year with the ultimate banger duo we only thought was a dream.

It follows a huge year for both Charli XCX and Rostam, with the latter releasing an acclaimed collaborative album alongside The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser in September. Charli in her own right has returned with a bang, otherwise known as ‘After The Afterparty’ – the first track taken from her hotly anticipated new album.
