Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz announces new solo project Sad13

There's a lot going on and it’s all happening very quickly.
Speedy Ortiz are bloody great, so a new project from frontwoman Sadie Dupuis is sure to be an ace one, with Dupuis today announcing the existence of solo venture Sad13.

Written, recorded and produced this year in Philadelphia, Sad13’s debut LP ‘Slugger’ is set for release on 11th November, with a fresh new cut already out in the form of lead single ‘Get A Yes’.

Full of twisting electro-pop swings, it’s the sort of track that you’ll keep playing again and again as you get ready for a night out – so get the hairbrushes out and prepare to mime along.

Speaking about the project, Dupuis said:

“I wanted to make songs that were the opposite of ‘Genie in A Bottle’ or ‘The Boy Is Mine.’ Songs that put affirmative consent at the heart of the subject matter and emphasize friendship among women and try to deescalate the toxic jealousy and ownership that are often centred in romantic pop songs.”
