Sam Mehran from Test Icicles and Outer Limits Recordings has died

"You will not be forgotten."

Sam Mehran from 00s dance-punk trio Test Icicles and, later, solo endeavour Outer Limits Recordings has reportedly died aged 31.

The news was announced on social media over the weekend (29th July) by Zak Mering of Outer Limits Recordings’ record label, GunkTV Records.

“You will be sorely missed and loved by many forever,” he wrote. “The most talented musician I’ve ever had the pleasure of being close friends with. I know you’re in a better place brother. You will not be forgotten.”

Mehran co-founded Test Icicles with Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange) and (now producer) Rory Attwell in 2004. They released one album together, ‘For Screening Purposes Only’ in 2005.
