Sampha takes ‘Controlla’ of the Live Lounge with this stunning cover

When you put him in front of a piano, the results are blooming spectacular
Taking over the airwaves in emphatic style, Sampha dialled into his own station in the Live Lounge yesterday (March 28th).

Taking to the keys across the nation, Sampha twisted and shifted Drake’s latest stormer ‘Controlla’, turning it into a distinctly Sampha creation that sounds like it’s been plucked right out of his own scrapbook.

Sampha also performed a mesmerising version of debut album highlight ‘No One Knows Me (Like The Piano)’, backed by a spine-tingling string section that added a whole ‘notha level to one of the most emotional numbers of the year so far.

Sampha is currently in the midst of a UK headline tour in support of debut album ‘Process’, with two huge nights at The Roundhouse lined up for tonight (March 29th) and tomorrow (March 30th) before a packed summer of festival slots including Parklife and Lovebox (with a cheeky Manchester Albert Hall show slotted in for July 5th for good measure)

Witness the greatness, with Sampha’s take on ‘Controlla’ and his own ‘No One Knows Me (Like The Piano)’ below,
