Sharon Van Etten looks back on old photos for her new ‘Comeback Kid’ video

"Sharon is both audience and projectionist of her memories," says the clip's director.

Sharon Van Etten has released a new video for ‘Comeback Kid’.

It’s a track from her new album ‘Remind Me Tomorrow’. The singer-songwriter’s fourth full-length, it’s set for release on 18th January.

Director Jonathan William Turner says: “The visuals draw from Sharon’s personal archive of photos and videos as the narrative of the song looks back on her past. The elements are then reactivated by an undercurrent of abstract animations.

“These sequences are also used to frame and obscure her performance, suggesting the fractured identity of someone looking at their past, but also confidently facing the future. Sharon is both audience and projectionist of her memories.”

She’s hitting the road for a fairly lengthy headline tour early next year, too. The run will kick off in the US in January, arriving in the UK on 21st March for a night at The Mill in Birmingham.

21 – Birmingham @ The Mill
22 – Manchester @ Albert Hall
23 – Dublin @ Vicar Street
24 – Glasgow @ St. Luke’s
26 – London @ Roundhouse
27 – Bristol @ SWX
