Shura sprinkles space-dust over Pixx with ‘Baboo’ remix

'Baboo' is the latest track to get the Space Tapes treatment.
After debuting at number 13 in the UK charts with long-awaited debut ‘Nothing’s Real’, Shura has again turned her hand to remixing, having previously cast spacey spells over tracks by Jessie Ware and Tegan and Sara.

Originally released back in May, ‘Baboo’, by Chipstead, Surrey’s Pixx, was dreamily dubby, scattering hi-hats and claps over the kind of blissed-out harmonies you’d expect from label 4AD. But Shura’s more dancefloor-friendly re-rub has taken the track somewhere beyond the ozone layer, and you can hear the results below.

Back on Earth, Pixx will be heading out on tour in October as support to Glass Animals, calling at:

October

21 OXFORD, O2 Academy

22 BRIGHTON, Dome

25 LONDON, Roundhouse

26 MANCHESTER, Academy 2

27 GLASGOW, Art School

28 LIVERPOOL, O2 Academy

29 DUBLIN, The Olympia

You can also catch her supporting Gwenno at London’s Globe theatre on Monday, 1st August, as part of Lauren Laverne’s Wonder Women series.

Shura, meanwhile, will be hitting the Wilderness and End of the Road festivals this summer, taking in a stop at Manchester Pride over the August Bank Holiday weekend. She’ll then embark on a US tour in October, with dates in Europe in November and at the O2 Forum on December 7th to look forward to. [sc name=”stopper”]
