Sløtface open up new number ‘Magazine’ and confirm details of debut album ‘Try Not To Freak Out’

  • Dork News Desk
  • April 28, 2017
Dropping heavyweight hooks at every turn, Sløtface have been shaking things up for a while now and things are only going to get bigger with blistering new number ‘Magazine’ flying out of the gates in style.

Soaring with their pedal firmly on the floor, it’s a sugary sweet kick to the front door of any who still haven’t clicked play on the Norwegian blazers – and a blooming good sign ahead of debut album ‘Try Not To Freak Out’, set to land on September 15th.

Speaking about the track, lead singer Haley Shea explained: “I really wanted to write a killer breakup song, but I’ve never really had any experience with heartbreaking, devastating, aggressive breakups, so I thought I would write a breakup song about breaking up with bad body image and unrealistic representations of human bodies in media. It’s fuelled by the back and forth of knowing that society creates unrealistic expectations regarding what people “should” look like, and still feeling uncomfortable in your own skin because you don’t live up to those images.”

To mark the release of ‘Try Not To Freak Out’, Sløtface will head round the UK for their biggest headline tour to date – kicking off in Bournemouth on September 28th before calling into Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle and London amongst many many more (and when we mean many, we mean 22 dates many). That’s on top of the current support run they’re on with Los Campesinos!, the dates they have lined up supporting The Cribs and the huge run of festival slots across the summer (including at this year’s The Great Escape).

Get the full run-down on those dates below, along with the full ‘Try Not To Freak Out’ tracklisting – right after you click play and turn the volume up so the neighbours can hear ‘Magazine’ below,
