Snail Mail and Mac Demarco have joined forces to release ‘A Cuckhold’s Refrain’ under the pseudonym Peppermint Patty.
The low-key track was uploaded to Snail Mail’s personal Youtube channel (Lindsey Jordan) yesterday, September 19th, and noodles gently over a conversation about… well, cuckolding. Lindsey leads the verses, while DeMarco’s chorus says: “if I had known just one night would cuck me out of my own home / who’d have thunk that I’d be all alone”.
Pitchfork have stated that the song was recorded in Mac DeMarco’s garage two years ago, and also features Domi & JD Beck and Deaton Chris Anthony.
Mac Demarco’s last studio release was his 2019 LP, ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’, which Dork said was, “more likely to be found relaxing on the ranch than calling the shots at high noon”. Snail Mail more recently shared some, “Very Good Music,” in the form of 2021’s, ‘Valentine’.
