So, Damon Albarn has around 40 unheard Gorillaz’ tracks laying about the house…

  • Dork News Desk
  • April 6, 2017
Now, when we chat to our favourite bands – we know all about how much goes on in the studio, and the sheer amount of tracks that never make the cut for the albums we click play on. Damon Albarn may have topped it though, revealing that there’s around 40 tracks that haven’t made the cut on Gorillaz’ new album ‘Humanz’

Speaking to Zane Lowe tonight (where Gorillaz will debut another new number ‘Let Me Out’), Damon revealed that Gorillaz’ are set for a pretty stunning future if those tracks are anything to go by, revealing that “I’m just sort of slowly going through all tunes that sort of didn’t work out and finishing them, I can certainly keep going for another 18 months.”

With those tracks including one featuring Little Simz, it’s a wonder he’s been able to sleep as Gorillaz gear back into frame with long-awaited new album ‘Humanz’ set to land on April 28th. Featuring already unveiled tracks ‘Ascension’, ‘We Got The Power’, ‘Saturnz Barz’ and ‘’, the album is set to feature appearances across the board from the likes of Jehnny Beth, Noel Gallagher, Grace Jones, Vince Staples, Danny Brown, De La Soul and many, many more.

Expect it to go off like a rocket when they headline their own Demon Dayz Festival in Margate at the start of June, set to feature ALL the album’s guests appearing on stage. It’s going to be that level of good.
