SOFY has dropped her new track, ‘btw’, another instalment of her forthcoming EP, ‘Bored In Colour (Pt.2)‘.

The track follows ‘Egomaniac’, which launched last month and precedes the release of the full ‘Bored In Colour (Pt.2)’ EP, which is set to drop on 6th January. It marks a much softer side to the artist, showing a vulnerability behind her usually sarcastic front on the more subdued track. She has also shared a video for the track, which you can watch below.

Discussing ‘btw’, SOFY says: “’btw’ is going to surprise a few people I think, it’s completely different to the rest of the project. It’s a stripped back, raw song about saying goodbye when a relationship ends but it’s nobody’s fault. It’s kind of the antithesis to ‘Egomaniac’ in a way, when you still have a lot of love for that person but it’s just not the same anymore and it sucks.”

“It’s probably the first song that I’ve written where I’ve fully worn my heart on my sleeve and It’s the only song I’m actually kind of scared to release because it’s SO vulnerable (and the guy it’s about doesn’t know it exists).”

‘btw’ rounds off a hectic year for SOFY, with a raucous Glastonbury set earlier in the year as well as numerous other festival features. It’s not quite time to wind down for Christmas yet, though, as she is set to play a sold-out headline show at Omeara in London next week.

SOFY will also play Lafayette next March, for those who missed out on tickets for her Omeara show. Tickets are available here.

You can listen to ‘btw’ here.
