Speedy Ortiz career into view with ‘In My Way’

The track is taken from the Anti-Trump ‘Our First 100 Days’ series
Sadie Dupuis certainly keeps herself busy. After shattering hearts last year with a debut solo album under the Sad13 moniker, she’s now bounced back into frame with Speedy Ortiz – revealing new track ‘In My Way’

The track is a sweeping milkshake of infectious pop melodies and carefree garage-rock, swinging and swaying before unravelling into something bloody special. It’s made us realise just how much we’ve missed Speedy Ortiz, still delivering the sort of anthems that get hit you straight in the gut whilst shaking you awake.

‘In My Way’ is Speedy Ortiz’ first new material since last year’s ‘Foiled Again’ EP, which followed on from their last studio LP ‘Foil Deer’ – released back in 2015. ‘In My Way’ comes as a part of a wider series of tracks under the ‘Our First 100 Days’ programme, with bands contributing music to mark/stand against the first 100 days of a certain orange-coloured president (with numbers already unveiled from Angel Olsen, PWR BTTM and Meat Wave amongst others).
