Sports Team are known for their live prowess, and so it makes ‘quite a lot of sense’ that they’d launch their forthcoming new album ‘Gulp!’ with a last-minute, intimate gig.

That’s exactly what they did last night (30th March), when they descended on Stoke Newington’s Mascara Bar following this week’s announcement of their second full-length, and the debut of the first track from it, ‘R Entertainment’.

The new song was one of a number to get a live airing, with ‘The Drop’ and ‘Cool It Kid’ – for which the band were joined on stage by Sorry‘s Asha Lorenz – both getting a debut too.

You can check out photos from the show below. The band played:

R Entertainment
Here It Comes Again
Happy (God’s Own Country)
Fishing
Cool It Kid
Camel Crew
M5
Here’s The Thing
The Drop
Kutcher
Stanton

‘R Entertainment’ is the first taster of forthcoming album ‘Gulp!’, which is set for release on 22nd July via Island Records.

Premiered as the Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 earlier this week (29th March), the band explain ‘R Entertainment’ explores: “the packaging down of all human experience into entertainment, prompted by the infinite scroll through social feeds and the manic formlessness of the images we are hit with every day. Graphic news interrupted by ads for season 17 of The Bodyguard, news as a rubbernecking, passively waiting for the next drop of horror as we flick through recipes.”
