Sycco is aiming to be a ‘Superstar’ with her brand new track

20-year-old Brisbane based writer, producer and artist Sycco has shared a brand new track, ‘Superstar’.

Handpicked by Kevin Parker to support on Tame Impala’s October 2022 Australian dates, Sycco (pronounced ‘psycho) explains: “I’m really proud of this song, which I wrote and produced super quickly in my bedroom, and finished up with Kon in the studio. The lyrics are satirical obviously – I used to work at a grocery store and it was fun to imagine a glowed-up future me having a tantrum in there.”

The track comes alongside a video directed by Madeline Randall. The team behind the visual reveal: “We’re always trying to tell a story and build the world around her music. There are so many layers and themes to the songs and we want the videos to feel just as dynamic and rich.”

Sycco is set to hit the UK this May, including an appearance at Brighton’s The Great Escape. Her tour dates read:

May
4 – Paradiso Basement – Amsterdam, NL
6 – Le Popup! – Paris, FR
7 – Road To Great Escape – Glasglow, SC
9 – Colours Hoxton – London, UK
10 – The Road To Great Escape – Dublin, IE
11 – Yes – Pink Room – Manchester, UK
13-14 – The Great Escape – Brighton, UK
