Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker’s old band Mink Mussel Creek reunites

The group also features Pond’s Nicholas Allbrook and Shiny Joe Ryan.
Mink Mussel Creek – an old project featuring Kevin Parker of Tame Impala (pictured), and Pond’s Nicholas Allbrook and Shiny Joe Ryan – have reunited.

The group formed in 2005, sort of released an album in 2008 (well, it ended up on the internet) and then split shortly after. This is the second time the band has reformed, following a brief reunion in 2011 for ‘Mink Mussel Manticore’.

Little news is known as of yet, but over the weekend Tame Impala’s Instagram account posted a new photo of the band in rehearsals (below), along with the caption: “Gettin the band back together;” and Pitchfork reports there’s a one-off show on the way.
