The 1975 are playing this year’s BRIT Awards ceremony

They've also dropped a lyric video for 'I Like America & America Likes Me'

Half way through a tour so jaw-droppingly amazing we’re still looking for a few of our lower teeth, The 1975 have dropped a brand new lyric video.

The clip for ‘I Like America & America Likes Me’ will look familiar if you’ve been to any of the band’s recent shows – it forms part of the backdrop for the song. Taken from their most recent Number One album ‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’, you can check it out below.

The 1975 have also been revealed as one of the performers for this year’s BRIT Awards. Following up on their appearance back in 2017, where they confused mild mannered telly viewers with their self-depreciating messages during a performance of ‘The Sound’ on their way to winning Best British Group and Best British Album, they’ll be hoping to complete the double again this time round.

Let’s be honest, Dear Readers – it would not shock us at all if they did when the award ceremony takes place on Wedensday, 20th February. You can find the details of other performers appearing on the night here.

They’re also getting up close with some War Child BRITs Week fun, when they play London’s Garage on Monday 18th February. You can find out more about that here.

And if that’s not enough 1975 fun, you can check out our recent cover feature with the band as they dropped ‘ABIIOR’ here.
