A few days ago (Saturday 19th October), The 1975 started another of their traditional countdowns, posting a new image to social media.
Kicking off with a gigantic 5, branded in livery for their forthcoming album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’, it came alongside the message “// 5 DAYS // LOVE”.
And now we know what’s coming: alongside yesterday evening’s number 3, they revealed that it’s much-teased new single, ‘Frail State of Mind’.
In a chat with Dazed, the song was recently described as a “sad, Burial kind of thing about social anxiety, you know, going out. I’m better at it happening, me and you sitting down and having a conversation, than thinking about going to do the conversation. The social event’s normally always fine, but the build up to it, I hate it.”
