Today (Saturday 20th August) sees The 1975 make their live comeback at the Tokyo leg of Summer Sonic 2022.

Their first live appearance since before the pandemic and the release of their fourth album ‘Notes on a Conditional Form’, they’ll follow it up with another headline slot at the Osaka leg of the festival tomorrow, before returning to the UK for their last-minute headline appearances at Reading & Leeds Festivals next weekend.

It’s all coming in the build-up to their forthcoming fifth album ‘Being Funny In a Foreign Language’, which is set to arrive on 14th October.

With loads of big questions to answer (What will the staging be? Will there be more new material than the two tracks we’ve heard already? Will we hear the ‘BFIAFL’ version of album opener ‘The 1975’?), we’ll be bringing you live updates on the set, which kicks off at 11:30am BST. Basically, we’re doing this to spare Twitter from our most inane nonsense. Thank us later.
