The Japanese House, Dream Wife, The Magic Gang and Will Joseph Cook amongst new names for The Great Escape

  • Dork News Desk
  • January 31, 2017
The Great Escape is getting bigger and bigger, with over 100 names being announced for the Brighton new music throwdown including The Japanese House, Dream Wife and Will Joseph Cook amongst others (and by others – we mean a bloody lot).

The calling card for all things new music, the festival’s new batch of names also includes the likes of bonafide Dork faves Marika Hackman, The Magic Gang, Pumarosa, King Nun, The Parrots, Dagny, Our Girl, Dan Croll, Salen, HMLTD, The Bay Rays and tons more – all bringing the heat across Brighton city centre.

Local kingpins The Magic Gang said: “As we’re based in Brighton The Great Escape is always an event we look forward to playing . It’s a really great opportunity to see 20 bands in one night”

They’re not wrong there.

Also announced today is Slaves, who are set to play a special Spotlight Show that’s taking over the entire Brighton Pier – meaning ticket-holders can jump on fair-rides and catch the duo going at it in a combination we thought would never happen.

It’s coming together with a batch of previously confirmed names that boasts Rag ‘N’ Bone Man, Cabbage, Shame, Abattoir Blues, Slotface, Ray BLK, Skott and Cherry Glazerr amongst others – ensuring our train tickets to Brighton are well and truly stamped off already.

Tickets for the three day affair, taking place between May 18th-20th, along with the special Spotlight Shows are available now. Check out the full list of new additions below.
