The Lemon Twigs are heading out on a UK tour early next year in support of their second album, the sort-of-a-musical ‘Go To School’.
The follow-up on last year’s ‘Brothers of Destruction’ EP, and 2016’s debut album ‘Do Hollywood’, ‘Go To School’ came out just a few weeks ago.
“With any musical, you’ve gotta first believe that people breaking into song every five minutes is normal — there are no rules,” says Michael D’Addario.
“You’ve gotta believe it in order to enjoy the music and absorb the weight of the lyrics. The ‘why’ is just because it gets you to the next part. It’s supposed to make you feel something.
“Go To School is not meant to be taken literally outside of the context of the art. It’s what they call a ‘movie for your ears’.
The Lemon Twigs will also be in the UK later this year for a tour with Arctic Monkeys, and also two headline shows at the Lexington, London.
The new tour details are as follows:
FEBRUARY
21 MANCHESTER O2 Ritz
22 GLASGOW Saint Luke’s
23 NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE Riverside
25 LEEDS Stylus
26 BIRMINGHAM O2 Institute2 Birmingham
27 LONDON Roundhouse
