The National have announced their new album, ‘I Am Easy To Find’

Check out lead single, ‘You Had Your Soul With You’.

The National have announced details of their eighth studio album.

‘I Am Easy To Find’ will be released on 17th May via 4AD, preceded by lead single ‘You Had Your Soul With You’, which you can check out below alongside the record’s artwork.

The album features guest vocals from Gail Ann Dorsey, Lisa Hannigan, Sharon Van Etten, Mina Tindle, Kate Stables, and the Brooklyn Youth Choir.

“Yes, there are a lot of women singing on this, but it wasn’t because, ‘Oh, let’s have more women’s voices’,” says vocalist Matt Berninger in a somewhat questionable explanatory quote. “It was more, ‘Let’s have more of a fabric of people’s identities’. It would have been better to have had other male singers, but my ego wouldn’t let that happen.”

A companion short film with the same name, starring Alicia Vikander, will also be released with music by The National and inspired by the album.
