The National are teasing their new album, and hinting at new collabs with Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens

The National's last full album, I Am Easy To Find, was released back in 2019.

The National are continuing to tease their new album, and are hinting at some all star collaborations.

The band posted a short clip on social media, featuring frontman Matt Berninger facing a piano, and 25 seconds of music. At the end of the clip, he holds up a copy of Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein.

There’s also a link to their website – labelled ‘lp9’ – which is password protected. If accessed using the phrases “EVIL FOREBODINGS” or “TRANQUILIZE THE MIND”, you’ll get a new video with snippets of a couple of what seem to be new songs.

A passage from that Frankenstein book is also shown – though it includes teasers that fans think suggest references to Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers and Sufjan Stevens, as well as some track titles.
