The Wave Pictures have released a new 360° video for their single, ‘The Burnt Match’.
It’s a track taken from the group’s upcoming album ‘Brushes With Happiness’, due out on 22nd June via Moshi Moshi.
Dave Tattersall says of the track: “This one is the kind of song I would have tried to do many times in the past but wouldn’t have really pulled it off before, because I would have over-thought it. As Neil Young says, ‘The more you think, the more you stink!!’
“But we just improvised these songs on the fly, on the spur of the moment. So you can hear them come together with a lot more vitality than they would have done in the past. Everything about the music business is designed to make you second-guess yourself constantly, and this is part of the reason why all the music they have now is a load of rubbish.
“You have to fight against that every day. Everybody has an opinion. They look at you and tell you, ‘If you do this and this and this you could be Radiohead’. I’d rather die.”
The band are hitting the road next month for a massive tour. They’ll also play London’s KOKO on 22nd November.
