The Weeknd’s new album ‘Dawn FM’ is coming this Friday

The follow-up to the massive 'After Hours' comes on 7th January.

The Weeknd is set to drop his brand new album ‘Dawn FM’ this coming Friday.

The new record follows up on the smash hit ‘After Hours’, and follows a period of teasing over recent months. As well as first cut ‘Take My Breath’, Abel Tesfaye also shared a screenshot of a text conversation on Instagram on New Year’s Day claiming “Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people.”

Now, he’s followed that up with a trailer announcing ‘Dawn FM’ will be with us on Friday 7th January. “You are now listening to 103.5 Dawn FM,” a voice states. “You’ve been in the dark way too long. It’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

‘Dawn FM’ will feature guest appearances from Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never, and, erm, Jim Carrey – who Tesfaye apparently stuck up a friendship with over lockdown, and who took the star out for breakfast on his 30th birthday. So there you go.

You can check out the trailer for ‘Dawn FM’ below.
