There’s all sorts going on in Christine and the Queens’ closet in the video for her new single ‘5 Dollars’

It's the latest cut to arrive from her forthcoming album 'Chris'.

Christine and the Queens has released another new track from her forthcoming second album, ‘Chris’.

Titled ‘5 Dollars’, the song was debuted on BBC Radio 1 in the Hottest Record slot, and comes alongside a video directed by Colin Solal Cardo, who also helmed last month’s clip for ‘Doesn’t Matter’.

“The song is so tender, so disheveled,” explains Christine. “It’s dealing with some kind of love – the kind you can buy. It’s a literal interpretation. A note for a shag – how surprisingly soothing this can be! The power ratio runs clear, like water in your hands; it becomes a pure gesture of love, of ultimate consent.”

Bonus points for use of the word ‘shag’, there.

The follow up to ‘Chaleur Humaine’, ‘Chris’ is set to arrive on 21st September, and features previous singles ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘Doesn’t Matter’.
