Toro y Moi has signed to Dead Oceans, has a new album coming next year

A new full-length will be coming in 2022 via the label, also home to the likes of Phoebe Bridgers and Mitski.

Toro y Moi, a.k.a Chaz Bear, has announced he’s signed with Dead Oceans, with a new album set to be released in 2022 via the new label.

Dead Oceans is home to the likes of Japanese Breakfast, Khruangbin, Phoebe Bridgers, Bright Eyes, Mitski, Slowdive and more. Speaking about joining the label, Chaz shares: “I’m excited to begin this next chapter with Secretly / Dead Oceans! Throughout the years they’ve continually maintained a conscious eye on the state of independent music and are pushing the boundaries of popular music. Thanks again to all my fans and supporters in making it this far with my music, your love and time is appreciated!”

A press release states that “more” from Toro y Moi will be coming soon. It also says the previously mentioned new album “absolutely slaps”.

We’ll be the judges of that, Dead Oceans.
