London-based newcomer Valencia Grace has shared a new single, ‘Final Dance’, with a retro music video accompaniment.
After debuting with ‘It Was You’ back in March, the English singer has gone on to tally up a total of five singles this year, adding ‘Goodbye’, ‘There I Said It’, ‘What A Shame’ to her discography before dropping the new single, ‘Final Dance’, on November 18th via Columbia Records.
On the new track, Valencia shares: When I wrote ‘Final Dance’, it was scary because it was the first time I wrote about my depression. I wanted the video for it to be raw and emotional. It paints the picture of someone who’s not doing well. I hope you find comfort in the chaos and connect with it.”
“I’m inspired by these women who were unapologetically themselves,” she shares on her musical inspirations. “What I love about an artist like Amy [Winehouse] is, watching clips of her performing live, it’s like she’s in a trance – she’s so caught up in how she’s feeling. I feel this particularly throughout the Motown era too. It’s all I listen to!”
“You don’t have to be perfect,” she concludes. “You just have to feel the music.”
