Vampire Weekend have jumped ship from XL Recordings to Sony for their new album.
AND!
There’s a good chance it’ll land very soon indeed, as a Sony Corp financial statement lists the release as a “noteworthy project” due before 30th September.
A project, says the report, is “the aggregation of revenue from albums and digital track exploitation. Revenue within the quarter may also include revenue from individual tracks not associated with an album, or associated with a future album.”
So given Vampy Weeks aren’t likely to set the singles chart ablaze, it’s probs not just a track or two, right?
The list also features releases from Barbra Streisand, Daughtry, Future and Meghan Trainor. Check out the, er, super interesting pdf here (Vampys are on p9).
The band are popping over to the UK for End of the Road this September, too…
