Glasgow newcomers VLURE have dropped a video for their debut single ‘Shattered Faith’.
Released via Permanent Creeps, it arrives ahead of a run of socially-distanced live dates this summer, including two shows at The Windmill in Brixton on 17th June, and a headliner at London’s MOTH Club on 26th November.
Speaking about the track the band explain: “We wanted to create something that felt at home on the dancefloors that we all found ourselves on growing up, yet still equally at home in the sweat-filled venues that the band was conceived in. At it’s crux, ‘Shattered Faith’ is about self-empowerment. It’s the disillusionment with where you are and what you’ve been given. It’s lying on your kitchen floor at 3am realising who you truly are and finding power in that – it’s a new lease of life. We believe that, if you want to find it, there is something for everyone in this song.”
Of the video, they add: “It was filmed in Glasgow over two days in two locations: Oxford House – a former Police barracks in the city’s Clydeside – and the grounds of Pollok House, an iconic 1700s structure within Pollok Country Park in Glasgow’s Southside. The surrounding weathered but stoic landscape lends itself fully to the track. To get the sunrise shots in the woods we arose early for a 6am shoot under the foggy darkness. A sobering experience. The story itself is about running from your inner demons, it’s a response to strife, to desire and life. Shout to Ophidian the snake for being sound and not flying for us.”
