'We Love L.A.' features an impressive lineup of guests including Judd Apatow, Pink, Inara George, Beck, Grohl’s daughter Violet, Karen O, and Tenacious D.

Dave Grohl and Greg Kurstin have released the eighth instalment of their Hanukkah Sessions series, covering Randy Newman‘s ‘I Love L.A.’. The star-studded rendition, retitled to ‘We Love L.A.’, features an impressive lineup of guests including Judd Apatow, Pink, Inara George, Beck, Grohl’s daughter Violet, Karen O, and Tenacious D.

The Hanukkah Sessions began last week for its third annual series. This year, Grohl and Kurstin performed a secret show to 250 fans in Los Angeles on 5th December, with all of the profits earned from ticket sales going to the Anti-Defamation League. The nine-song set ended with their rendition of ‘We Love L.A.’.

The series began on December 18 with their cover of ‘Spinning Wheel’ by Blood, Sweat & Tears featuring Apatow, followed by ‘Get This Party Started’ featuring Pink, and ‘The Things We Do For Love’ by 10cc featuring Kurstin’s The Bird And The Bee bandmate Inara George. They then delivered covers of ‘At Seventeen’ by Janis Ian featuring Grohl’s daughter Violet, ‘E-Pro’ with Beck, ‘Heads Will Roll’ by Yeah Yeah Yeahs with Karen O, and ‘The Spirit Of Radio’ by Rush with Jack Black and Kyle Glass.

The Hanukkah Sessions series celebrates songs by Jewish musicians, with the first series featuring covers of songs by Drake, the Beastie Boys, Bob Dylan, Mountain, Elastica, The Knack and The Velvet Underground. Last year’s series saw Grohl and Kurstin cover Billy Joel, Van Halen, Barry Manilow, Lisa Loeb, the Ramones, Amy Winehouse, The Clash and KISS.

The series will come to an end tomorrow (December 27), when Grohl and Kurstin release their cover of David Lee Roth’s ‘Just A Gigolo’, featuring Beck. Fans can watch their take on Randy Newman’s 1983 classic below.
