We don’t get much music on UK TV these days. The odd spot on a chat show, usually for a household name, the occasional megastar on the X Factor results show, and Later… with Jools Holland. That’s pretty much the extent of it.
Which is all a bit of a shame, honestly, because it’s a platform that allows bands to make a stellar jump on home shores. That’s what former Dork cover stars Glass Animals made a shot at last night, with an impressively enthusiastic blast through their Banger of the Year contender ‘Life Itself’. Understanding the unwritten rule that, if you want to make a splash on telly, you best do a bit of a dance – the four piece left nothing on the table.
