Watch Lorde’s jaw-droppingly brilliant Glastonbury 2017 set

You don't need to play last to headline a festival, it turns out.
Technically, Lorde didn’t headline a stage at Glastonbury 2017.

By the letter of festival law, Radiohead topped the bill on Friday. Major Lazer were the last band to play on her Other Stage too. Second from top, it was a big deal, but not the final word.

And if you want to try and argue that after watching her full set, that’s totally fine, but you’d be wrong.

If they did auditions for the top job, Lorde would have had an offer before leaving the interview room. Despite having just two albums – one of them released for only a week – our Ella delivered a set packed with drama and emotion. The kind of moment that will stick in the memory of all those present way past the end of the weekend’s festivities, it was definitively her.

If you missed it, our mates at the BBC have your back. For the next month you can watch all 62 minutes of certified melodrama right here, or check it out below. Iconic, right?
