Waxahatchee has announced a brand new EP for release later this year.
Titled ‘Great Thunder’, the new release will arrive on 7th September, featuring a collection of songs Katie Crutchfield wrote with the now-dormant experimental recording group of the same name.
Created at the same time as writing the Waxahatchee albums ‘Cerulean Salt’ and ‘Ivy Tripp’, a press release explains that “the original recordings have mostly faded into obscurity”, with Crutchfield describing reimagining them with producer Brad Cook a “cathartic experience”.
The news comes alongside a video for ‘Chapel of Pines’, directed by Christopher Good and starring Crutchfield and Kevin Morby. You can check it out below.
