Weezer have announced the full details of their forthcoming album.
The self-titled ‘Black Album’ is the band’s 12th studio album, and fifth colour coded effort, following on from blue, green, red and white. It’ll be released on 1st March.
Teased for a number of years, the new record is previewed by a second new track taken from it, the emphatically titled ‘Zombie Bastards’, which you can check out below.
Produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, and made up of songs entirely written on piano by frontman Rivers Cuomo, a press release describes the record as being filtered through “musical references of everything from Gorillaz to Can to Pink Floyd”.
‘Zombie Bastards’ follows up on the previously revealed ‘Can’t Knock The Hustle’.
As well as the new record, Weezer have announced they’ll be returning to the UK next summer for a show at London’s O2 Brixton Academy on 29th June – something which fits pretty well with a potential Glastonbury set, right?
