Wesley Joseph has announced an upcoming project, ‘GLOW’, with the new single, ‘MONSOON’.
It is the London-based songwriter’s second track of 2022, following February’s ‘COLD SUMMER’, which will also be included in the 8-track release. ‘GLOW’ is slated to arrive in full on February 17th, 2023 via Secretly Canadian, and follows his 2021 debut album, ‘ULTRAMARINE’.
The cinematic effort was co-produced by A.K Paul and emphases Joseph’s clear lyrical delivery, focusing on hyper-stylized grief. It also arrives with a self-directed music video.
“I wrote and recorded ‘Monsoon’ with A.K. Paul and Harvey Dweller between my studio and A.K.’s space in London earlier this year,” he expands. “The process felt like an awakening, and the beginning of a new chapter after ‘ULTRAMARINE’. I’d been thinking and re-evaluating things and the song put a lot in perspective for me.”
“It’s a journey of liberation, and I found myself questioning and understanding my own feelings about the turbulence of life itself,” he adds. “The video is the most minimalist I’ve directed but also the most poignant, with each scene existing as a visual metaphor and the focus throughout being on feeling and expression.”
