Westerman ponders “the absurdity of the self” with his new single, ‘Waiting on Design’

He's also moved his London show back to August.

Westerman has shared his new single, ‘Waiting on Design’.

It’s a cut from his upcoming debut album – ‘Your Hero Is Not Dead’, due out on 5th June via Play It Again Sam – and it arrives alongside the news that his London, Berlin and Paris dates have been rescheduled to August and October.

“I was thinking about the absurdity of the self,” he says of the song, “and how nobody wants to look at themselves from the perspective of the people they hurt. What’s interesting to me about storytelling isn’t necessarily the stories themselves, but the mutual connection that comes from people’s understanding of what’s being conjured by that story.”

Give it a listen below, and catch Westerman live at London’s Hoxton Hall on 20th August.
