Wild Beasts, Pixies and Super Furry Animals for 6 Music Live

They'll join a varied line-up of acts for the fifth annual series of live sessions.
The BBC’s 6 Music Live event returns this October, and looks bigger and better than ever.

Presenter Lauren Laverne says the line-up “represents the incredible range of music played on BBC Radio 6 Music every day – from the newer, emerging talents to more established and legendary names who’ve shaped the music we hear today.”

Split across two days, and two sites, the event will see Wild Beasts, Pixies and Super Furry Animals join Michael Kiwanuka and post-punk pop royalty The Pretenders at London’s Maida Vale Studios on Monday 3rd October, with a second day of sessions set to take place a week later, at the London and Salford Live Rooms.

The line-up for the 10th October includes Jamie T, Slow Club and Parquet Courts, appearing alongside Kate Tempest, John Cooper-Clarke and Hugh Cornwell.

There’ll be a limited number of tickets available for the performances on 3rd October; registration opens this Friday at the 6 Music website, where you can find more information about this year’s event. But hurry, it closes on 18th September.

If you can’t be there, all of the sets will be broadcast on 6 Music, as well as being filmed for the web. Additionally, the sets from Maida Vale will be available via the BBC Red Button, so you can watch them on the big telly.
