Yassassin have released ‘Citizen’, a new tune about standing up to injustice

They also have two new additions to the band.
Yassassin have unleashed their new single ‘Citizen’; the follow-up to last year’s ‘Vitamin Y’ EP.

The band are back with a new line-up featuring Stephanie Anderson (Bruising) and Nathalia Bruno (DRIFT), and have been recording with Richard James and Euan Hinshelwood.

“‘Citizen’ has been an ever-evolving song that went through a huge re-jig when Steph and Nat joined the band”, they explain. “I guess it’s about realising that as messed up as our world is, there are still so many people who care and get themselves involved in fighting injustices. It really gives you hope. It’s important for young people to speak up, demonstrate, to get involved politically if that’s your thing, to write songs, make art.”
