Watch Years & Years usher in 2022 with ‘Sweet Talker’, ‘Sanctify’ and a Kylie live collab

  • Stephen Ackroyd
  • January 1, 2022

Generally in the UK, we’re forced to make some pretty bad musical choices if we’ve decided to ‘stay in’ for the new year. It’ll be either Jools and his honking Hootenanny, or some heritage-fest BBC One has scheduled in for your parents. Not this year though.

Last night, the UK’s national broadcaster’s flagship channel decided the best way to see in 2022 would be in the company of Olly Alexander and a Years & Years hosted mega-party. And they’d be correct.

The show featured Olly teaming up with both Kylie Minogue and Pet Shop Boys, as well as performing a whole bunch of Years & Years bops. You can check out some of the footage online now, including a duet with Kylie on her track ‘A Second To Midnight’ (obviously performed in the run-up to the big bongs), plus takes on recent single ‘Sweet Talker’ and greatest hit ‘Sanctify’.

If you want to watch the whole show, it’s available via BBC iPlayer here.

Years & Years’ new album ‘Night Call’ is set for release later this month on 21st January.
