Soft Play are back with a bombastic new single, ‘Punk’s Dead’, and a very special “notable guest”

They'll be making a surprise appearance at Reading & Leeds this weekend.

Soft Play are back with a brand new track, and a big surprise.

‘Punk’s Dead’ arrives as the duo – formally known as Slaves – announce they’ve signed a new label partnership with BMG, and will be appearing at this weekend’s Reading & Leeds festivals.

Following up on some intimate warm-up shows and a headline appearance at 2000trees, they’ll be making a relatively intimate appearance on the Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds, where they’ll play the Festival Republic stage.

‘Punk’s Dead’ sees the band take real-life criticism of their decision to change their name, and turn it into a song. It also features an unnamed “notable guest” who sounds an awful lot like Robbie Williams.

Because it’s obviously Robbie Williams.
